Who is the JediRunner?

JediRunner = Kevin White: a computer software engineer who also dabbles in running, juggling, wood working, and enjoys learning or trying just about anything that's worthwhile.

The Programming Part (aka: Technology Rocks!)

I started programming in 1981, when I first had access to a TI-400 in elementary school. Since then, I've been hooked. I've worked at numerous companies large and small over the years doing technical support, developer support, software testing (api level), software engineering, managing, and back to engineering. Throughout all that time, I've always had some side project or other going on so I can experiment with various platforms, technologies, and programming languages.

I've programmed in: (listed in no particular order, and at various levels of expertise): C#, C, C++, Java, Pascal (for DOS and Delphi), HTML, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, Python, Ruby, Assembly, and Perl

I've programmed for: Windows, OSX, iPhone/iPad, Linux, DOS, Windows CE, Palm, NetWare, and even OS/2 and MultiUser DOS.

Check out my projects page to see what side projects I'm currently spending too much time on.

The Other Hobbies (aka: Learning Rocks!)

I tend to dabble. I'm interested in just about anything (except singing, which I gave up on before I ever tried it). I tend to pick up a hobby out of interest and love of learning. Sometimes the hobbies stick, and sometimes they don't. But this way I get to experience a whole bunch of great activities.

Some of my hobbies include (or have included): running, juggling, wood working, painting, drawing, photography, and martial arts (of several varieties).

Trying lots of new things is cool. Getting good at a few of them is very cool. Mastering 1 or 2 of them along the way is awesome.

Let me say this again: Learning Rocks!

Why JediRunner?

Let's do the math on how I came up with the most awesomeest name in the world: JediRunner, shall we?

Fact 1: Star Wars is the coolest movie/book/toy universe ever created. EVER. Jedi Knights rule.

Fact 2: Running is a great hobby, great for fitness and health, and helps overweight computer workers like me get in some semblance of fitness (until/unless we blow out our knees, in which case we'll have to take up biking or something).

Therefore, once the math is complete, we have Jedi + Runner = JediRunner. Bing! Bing! Bing! We have a winner!
