Current Projects
Here are some of my current development projects (web sites and apps). There have been several development projects in the past which I've either abandoned or they've never seen the light of day. I can't promise that any of these will see the light of day either. :)
Some of my projects will never see the light of day beyond my own use, so they won't get listed here, as those are mostly for technology experimentation.
PocketMormon.com
This web site, in dire need of updates at the moment, focuses on software for LDS church members who use iOS devices.
(Yes, it will get updates soon, they're already under development).
TempleClock
This iPad application turns your iPad into a desk clock with random pictures of several temples, and quotes from LDS church leaders and scriptures.
Yes, this app is also in dire needs of an update, and it is also in progress.
FrogSmasher
This iPhone game was one of my first apps for the iPhone. It hasn't seen an update for nearly 2 years, so it's about due for one, and I've got big plans for it. For now, it's been pulled from the App Store until I can get it updated.
Past Projects
Here are just a few of my past projects worth noting (cause I feel like it). There have been many many others, but these were some of my favorites:
- Whack-a-Frog: This was my foray into Palm programming, and the first version of what is now FrogSmasher for the iPhone. Black-and-white version of a simple whack-a-mole style game using a tap-and-smash style of gameplay.
- Whack-a-Frog: Ok, same name as the Palm version ... This PocketPC version came in color, and was never played by anyone but myself and my kids. It got me into Pocket PC programming.
- HTML Colors: An old iPhone app which never got updated, due to me running out of time and interest, sadly. :( It let users browse old-school HTML-friendly colors and see how they work together for simple color theming. I'd like to revisit this app if I get a chance, simply because I'm interested in making a better color scheming app one day.
- ASCII Chart: This was about as simple as you can get for an iPhone program and was my first iPhone app released to the app store. It did exactly what it says ... display an ASCII chart, with the user's choice of number bases for codes.
- KevinsWorld: This very very old site was actually listed as a "Pocket PC Magazine Best Site" for a while. I wrote reviews of Pocket PC software and accessories, and had tens of thousands of visitors on a regular basis. It was perhaps my most successful (commercially, anyway) web site which I ran solo from my basement. I since let the domain lapse and someone else is sitting on it now. How sad. :(
- StegoNotes: This Windows application was a post-it-note style note taking program which was fun to make, even if fairly trivial in its functionality. I'd like to revisit this one also someday.
